Writer's Block: Yes way...

Jun. 30th, 2010 | 11:48 am

Could you ever be good friends with someone who hunted purely for sport?

Yes, I could.  Someone's gotta teach me how to shoot and if the apocalypse comes, they'll be the ones who will be able to get food.  As far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with killing wild or tamed animals that are not pets, companions, or food for enjoyment.  Heck, it can even help an owner and a hunting dog bond.

Maybe you could get a deer birthday cake, although I don't know how tasty that would be.

Seriously, this one economist is predicting that the recession is going to explode in the next few months, leading to a stock market crashing to pre-1980s level, massive deflation, and high unemployment for years.

So we'd better head for the hills and start hunting.

And of course, Happy Birthday!

I know how to fire my shotgun, and I know how to eat deer, but it's the middle step that eludes me. I wouldn't know what to do with the deer once I shot it.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, though it really is just another day to me.

I remember when I was about 4 or 5, and my grandfather and uncles were headed out to hunt around Christmas time. I broke down crying because I didn't want them to kill Rudolph. The other reindeer were fair game though! :P

Haha...thats one way to look at it.

Although ever since I was a kid, I could never see talking and anthropomorphic animals as real animals so when I thought of people hunting, I didn't think of Elmer Fudd trying to kill the wascally wabbit. I thought of people killing strange, somewhat dangerous. organisms that lived in the woods. In a sense, I still think of most animals in the same light.
