End of the Year, End of the Line

Dec. 29th, 2011 | 03:39 pm

The gaps between my entries get longer and longer. This year I have written fewer times on LiveJournal than there have been months in the year. This is not because I'm tired of LiveJournal or even because I am busy, but I am tired of writing. I'm tired of everything.

You know how they say doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is insanity? That makes living itself insane.

So in an effort to stave off the reaper, I've started another Web venture, but I need your help. Here goes nothing:

We Want Serena

If you want Serena back as Sailor Moon, let me know.

That is precisely the question I've intended to raise.

The short answer is that certain vocal Sailor Moon fans don't like the name Serena and don't want Sailor Moon fans who do like the name Serena to retain her name. Instead, they want to give her an untranslated, more "authentic" Japanese name, instead of letting the standard names stay. They advocate retconning Sailor Moon, which means to keep the same animation, but to throw everything about the audio of the version of Sailor Moon that aired on TV and want to replace it with bad music.

They're purists. They want to ruin Sailor Moon for everybody. That's not right.
