Oh, Miluda!!! You tricked me!

So I decided to give Final Fantasy Tactics another try, this time on the PSP iteration. Maybe it would be better this time around.

A few minutes later, I remember why I hate this game. After playing Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, FFTA, and even Disgaea, I'm certain that FFT is just plain unfair from the jump.

Let's look at the first truly playable stage (not the intro stage in which you can't do much, but the defend the town stage). Since the grid contains 3d elements and big houses that block your view, you can't even get an overview of the entire battlefield at once...heck, you don't even get the option to get an overview of the battlefield as the default option in this stage. What type of bullshit is this? How the am I supposed to plan when I can't see where the hell I'm going?

Second, you only get five healing items in the first stage. Granted you get an assist character (Delita), but when the enemy is outdealing you in damage by several points, unless you're a master tactician, you are going to lose people because the enemy has more damage dealers than you have healers, and your chemists only get five shots and a limited range.

Third, I cannot stand how as soon as you move, you are committed to that action. Half the time, you can't see where you are going, so you're essentially walking blind into three or four enemies.

If they had just removed the 3D structures...or waited until say after the first stage to implement something like that, the game would at least have a graduated level of difficulty. As this game stands now, I can't even get past the first level, even after going through the tutorial. Once upon a time, I could get past this point, but now I'm aware that it was luck.
