The story behind my username is seemingly simple. "Nangbaby" was one of the nicknames that I received from my family, because when I was a baby, I would always make a sound like "Nang."
However, the truth is this was never meant to be my username. My handle was actually meant to be a password (since this was in the days before we knew it was a bad idea to have a password like that) to the family AOL account. The screen name was initially supposed to be my dad's first initial, last name, and a string of letters, just like most of the screen names out there. When the AOL account was created, though, I accidentally typed the password into the screen name box, and when my dad called AOL, they said it was too late too change it.
I suppose this is part of the reason why I tend to be so secretive when it comes to releasing details of my personal life. For so many years, my screen name was as close to me as my real name, and my opinions are that of the real me that I have a chance to express, rather than being denied the opportunity in real life.
